Projects abroad  Clearing house (Serbia)

In Serbia we are working on a project of developing a healthcare information system for primary healthcare and pharmaceutical services. An overall objective is to contribute to the accountability of the healthcare system in Serbia and to the implementation of the health reform process, which we are striving to achieve by:

• developing and implementing a quality HIS at all levels of health care (including data collection and transmission, analysis, use and dissemination of information);
• upgrading relevant legislation to ensure data privacy, protection and security;
• providing accurate, relevant and timely information to facilitate the transition to use evidence-based health care (EBHC) as a guide to the process of national health care reform;
• ensuring expenditure control and avoid duplication when dispensing medicines and basic health services;
• contributing to the establishment of a National Health Information Council;
• contributing to the establishment of a national, integrated, ICT-based HIS;
• providing patient/consumer record traceability and utilisation.
