From September 29th to October 1st at Cankarjev dom, the Third Lifecycle Festival took place, where SRC Infonet presented itself with the project ZEN. SRC Infonet together with partners Alpineon, Medius and ZRC-SAZU, developed advance vocal e-services for healthcare.

The purpose of the project ZEN was based on new e-services in the field of e-Inclusion and e-Health, supported by advance vocal user interfaces. Main focus was on development and validation of new voice-supported technological solutions in healthcare e-services, which enhance user experience using these services.

Through Slovene language synthesis we were able to develop a prototype of the e-service used for medication management support, focused on elderly users and users with special needs, especially blind and weak-sighted.

ZEN enables users’ full overview of their medication lists, either through a set-top box or mobile phone. Information consists of medication that has been prescribed to them, information regarding specific regulations on intake or dosages. ZEN also uses vocal reminders to remind the user to take their prescribed dose of medication.

The response from the visitors was excellent, even Gregor Golobič, Minister for Higher Learning, Science and Technology was impressed.
